What you’ll need to make this Caprese Sandwich…

  • fresh tomatoes, like beefsteak tomatoes or Roma
  • fresh whole milk mozzarella cheese or Burrata
  • fresh Basil leaves
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • basil pesto, homemade or store-bought will do
  • french baguette, ciabatta roll or fresh sourdough bread
  • balsamic reduction, optional
  • salt and black pepper, to taste

How to assemble this delicious Caprese inspired sandwich…

  1. Stary by toasting your bread slices in the toaster oven, until golden brown.
  2. Slice your tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella into slices, no thicker than 1/2 an inch, set side.
  3. Once toasted, spread some pesto onto the bread slices. Then add a layer of tomatoes and fresh mozzarella.
  4. Add a few pieces of fresh basil, light drizzle of olive oil, then add salt and pepper to taste.
