If you are looking to step up your burger game this summer, you have to try these Spicy Jalapeño Turkey Burgers. They are easily going to be the star of the show at your next barbecue! These juicy turkey burgers have the perfect spicy kick. Along with some bread crumbs, garlic, and chopped onion for the perfect burger flavor, I also added chopped pickled jalapeños and red pepper flakes. If you love spicy food and tolerate heat, I’ll even show you how to increase the heat level in the directions below!

Why you’ll love these delicious turkey burgers…

No dry turkey burgers here, these juicy burgers use ingredients like dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce to not only add flavor but keep the texture juicy. Another tip I share in the directions below is to refrigerate for 15-30 minutes before cooking them on the grill. It’s a good idea to keep them cold before cooking since it will keep them juicy and the best way to have them keep their shape. Trust me, it makes them so much easier to flip.

What I also love about these turkey burger patties is that you can enjoy them as a healthy meal by swapping out the bun with a lettuce bun, eating them similar to lettuce wraps. These delicious jalapeño turkey burgers are so flavorful that you won’t even miss having a bun.

Turkey patties were also the perfect healthy option since turkey is a lean versatile protein that can so easily be flavored and is adaptable to so many cuisines. It’s a great protein to use as part of your everyday recipes (from meatballs to kabobs), and isn’t just for the holidays!

What you’ll need to make these spicy turkey burgers…

  • 450 g of lean ground turkey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp of pickled jalapeño peppers, chopped
  • ¼ tsp of red pepper flakes (increase to ½ tsp if you want more spice)
  • ½ cup of diced onion, white or red onion will do
  • ½ cup of bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp of dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp of chopped parsley
  • Generous pinch of salt and black pepper

For the Burgers:

  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce
  • mayo, or any other sauce of your choice
  • a few slices of tomatoes

How to make the best turkey burgers…

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine turkey meat with the ingredients until well combined. You can use a wooden spoon to mix or get right in there with your hands.
  2. Separate the turkey mixture into 4 equal patties and shape them to match the size of your buns, keeping them at least 2 inches thick.
  3. Place patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place in the fridge, giving it at least 15-30 minutes of chill time. As I mentioned above, this will ensure you get a juicy burger and will also help keep their shape while cooking and flipping.
