This could be one of the healthiest cocktails out there. Did I just say, healthy? I sure did. I have been on a juicing spree the last few weeks and have been playing around with combinations of different fruits and vegetables.
One morning, I just wanted a simple juice so I threw in 2 pears and 2 apples into the juicer. It was so fresh and thought it would be the base of a perfect cocktail. Now, it was still the morning…so later that afternoon (ok, it was like 1 pm) I started playing around with creating a cocktail out of it. I added a little honey to sweeten it and decided to make this a gin cocktail. And, well damn. It was incredible! It’s different, it’s fresh, it’s easy to make and will for sure wow your guests heading into the Holiday season.
Ingredients:
This recipe makes 2 cocktails…
-
2 apples
-
2 pears
-
1 tbsp of honey
-
2 oz of Gin
-
Rosemary sprigs for garnish
-
ice
Directions:
-
Cut the fruit in quarters and remove any seeds. Process the fruit through the juicer. If you don’t have a juicer, simply add the fruit to a blender and process until smooth. Strain to remove the pulp.
-
In a cocktail shaker; add a handful of ice, fresh juice, gin and honey. Shake or stir.
-
Strain and pour into two cocktail glasses.
-
Garnish with Rosemary and serve immediately.
This cocktail can also be done with store-bought “smoothie” juices if needed.
