Looking for something refreshing to sip on a sunny afternoon? This beautiful lemonade is a must-try.
I’ve been a big fan of making Lavender Simple Syrup since I realized how easy it is to make. It has been a great addition in baking, glazes and cocktails; just like this Lavender Margarita.
This Lavender Lemonade is the perfect non-alcoholic sipper, but it’s also fantastic with a little vodka added. I mean, a little Vodka never hurt anyone…
You can also make this into a sparkling drink by just replacing the water with carbonated water. Either way, you will love it.
INGREDIENTS:
-
2 cups of lemon juice (about 5-6 lemons)
-
1/2 cup of lavender simple syrup (see recipe at the bottom of this post)
-
1 handful of fresh mint leaves
-
lemon slices for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
-
In a large pitcher, add the lemon juice, simple syrup and water. Stir to combine.
-
Add in a handful of fresh mint and refrigerate for at least one hour to infuse.
-
When ready to serve, pour into glasses and garnish with lemon slices and mint.
Taste and adjust sweetness levels. If you prefer more punch, adjust by adding 1/4 of level juice at a time until the desired flavour is reached.
For the Lavender Simple Syrup, combine 1 cup of sugar, with 1 cup of water and 3 tablespoons of dried Lavender into a small pot. On low heat, let simmer until all of the sugar has dissolved. Use a strainer to remove the dried lavender. Let the liquid cool and it’s ready to use.
