As much as I love my all-white dishes, sometimes I want a punch of colour. My sets of blue and white dishes do just that. They have always been my favourite and I have been collecting different sets for years. I have a few different blue and white sets that I love to mix and match, along with blue glassware I got ages ago.

It’s so easy to fall into that all-white, cream or beige trap and sometimes it gets kind of dull. I do admit, my dream home would have all white walls…but all my furniture and décor accents would be pops of colour. I do appreciate a little eclecticism in home décor.

Setting a table for me is no different. I like layers, colours and mixed glassware for interest in my tablescapes.

Not sure where to start? Dig through your dishes and play around with different sets. Mix and match your glassware and see what works for you. Some of my favourite dishes are ones passed down from my grandparents and mother. Ask them if they are looking to get rid of some.

Don’t want to spend too much on dishes? Hit up big box stores for inexpensive items or your local thrift store for some real gems.

When choosing a centrepiece, I often choose white flowers (real or faux) and or greenery. That way it always looks clean, fresh and will compliment most dish sets.

Those are just a few tips and hope you get inspired to spice up your table.
