These past few months, we have spent so much time outdoors and being in nature has been so calming to the mind with everything going on in 2020. I decided I wanted to bring that inside this Holiday season and use a lot of greenery and natural elements to create a cozy and calming Holiday tablescape.
I started with a white linen tablecloth that I folded in half (since I was looking for more of a table runner look) and used a tartan-style tablecloth that I had and placed in the middle. I want some texture from it so I played around with the tartan tablecloth and gave it a little volume.
I placed a layer for fresh cedar branches and then filled up some of the holes with some faux greenery. I used an inexpensive wreath I had and just cut pieces off. The wreath had berry branches and silk flowers that fit with the red in the tartan tablecloth. The size of the 3 small faux trees worked perfectly for the height I was going for and balanced out the candles perfectly.
I added a few little gold accents I had from around the house and added some chestnuts and pomegranates to finish off the organic vibes of the table. I used a mix of candle holders, which is something I love doing. I like how it adds a curated look to it. It’s nice using items that have meaning or a special memory too. For example, those dark wooden candlesticks were a gift my grandparents received for their wedding in the 1950s.
Since I wanted the focus to be on the middle of the table, I decided to go with neutral white dishes as well as classic white linen napkins.
I hope this table gives you a little inspiration to “dress up” your Holiday table this year!
