If you have been following my recent blog posts, you know that I am not the biggest fan of store-bought salad dressings. I still can’t even remember the last time I purchased any. First off, it is so incredibly easy to make your own at home. Secondly, it’s a lot more healthy…not to mention; fresh.
Making a salad dressing or vinaigrette is quite simple, and most of my go-to’s only require a handful of ingredients. This one is a perfect example. Blueberry season is starting for us in Canada, which means they are as fresh as they get all year. Farmers Markets will have loads of them so make sure to go support local.
INGREDIENTS:
-
1 cup of blueberries
-
1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar
-
2 tbsp of honey
-
juice of 1/2 lemon
-
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
-
It’s as easy as adding all your ingredients into a blender for one minute or until smooth.
-
Store in a glass jar or air-tight container. Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
