What’s better than a refreshing cocktail on a warm sunny afternoon? Having a few friends over in the backyard for some drinks and bites is probably one of my favourite way to spend the afternoon. While I am normally a wine drinker, in the summer I like to be more adventurous and play around with seasonal ingredients and create cocktails.
I am so excited to start a series of “Summer Sippers” posts and share some fun drink recipes with you. For the rest of July and August, I’ll be sharing some fabulous & easy cocktails using simple ingredients.
First up is a twist on one of my favourite cocktails, French 75!
Normally this cocktail calls for Champagne…but feel free to use Prosecco or any sparkling white wine.
INGREDIENTS:
-
1 oz of Gin

1 tbsp of blueberry jam or preserve
-
Champagne, Prosecco or any other white bubbles
-
long lemon twist and a few blueberries for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
-
In a cocktail shaker, add a handful of ice cubes, gin, lemon juice and blueberry jam. Shake well.
-
Strain into a champagne glass.
-
Top with your bubbles.
-
Garnish with a few blueberries and a lemon twist!
So excited to share a few more fresh cocktails coming soon!
In the meantime, cheers!
