If you had the chance to read my previous post about the Balsamic Blueberries on Whipped Goat Cheese, you know how much I love serving “amuse-bouches” or canapés at dinner parties or wine nights. As much as they are perfect to serve your guests, they also make an amazing afternoon snack or for your movie marathon.
This appetizer is inspired by my favourite summer salad; the Caprese Salad.
For this recipe, you will need some crostini and some balsamic reduction, which both recipes can be found here.
INGREDIENTS:
-
one batch of Easy Crostini
-
2 tomatoes, sliced
-
a handful of fresh basil, torn into pieces
-
balsamic reduction (recipe can be found here)
-
2 fresh mozzarella balls
-
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Start by placing all your crostini on a serving plate and add a slice of fresh mozzarella. Season lightly with salt and fresh cracked pepper. Add a few pieces of torn basil to each crostini and add a slice of tomato on top. Then drizzle your balsamic reduction on each crostini and you are ready to serve.
Enjoy!
