Postcards from Mexico City Part 2 🇲🇽As a creative, inspiration used to come so easily. Scrolling through social media, seeing home decor, food, and fashion content used to light a spark. But lately, the scroll feels different. It's now become quantity over quality, noise over nuance. A post just to post. I often scroll for too long, hoping something will stop me, captivate me. Something real. Something intentional. Something inspiring. And then… I walk the streets of Mexico City.The textures. The colors. The scents. The smiles. The design. Every corner feels like living art. Thoughtful restaurant interiors, handmade tiles, bold florals spilling over balconies. You don’t even need to take photos to remember it. You just feel it.I was chatting with an Insta friend and they said, “Sounds like you found your soul home.” That stopped me in my tracks, because it’s exactly how it feels. Even the first time I visited in 2024, I felt like I had already been there before. There’s a warmth and familiarity I’ve never felt anywhere else. We returned in September, and those feelings only deepened.I’ve travelled a lot. But never like this. This place feeds my creativity and quiets the noise. People dropped by unannounced, because they were “in the area.”Hanging out didn’t require a calendar invite, just the desire to connect.Last weekend, sitting by the fire under a sky full of stars, music playing softly in the background, it was 24h where I was transported back to that kind of simplicity.No distractions. Just talking about our dreams, reading by lantern light, listening to the wind move through the trees.Connecting with the elements.Maybe we don’t need to go back in time, maybe we just need to remember how it felt… and find little ways to bring it back.
